We had a really nice meetup last night. More people showed up than usually do at these events.
I especially enjoyed finding out how others arrived at their current point of non-belief. It turns out early environments may not have as much effect as one might anticipate. It seemed evenly split between people who had been raised theist and those who hadn't been raised with any particular religious training.
I had a great chat with John B. I look forward to talking with him again. He's led a fascinating life. Many of those present were, as one might expect, involved in the sciences. Most were physicists or engineers...critical thinkers who by training ask questions and expect concise answers. Just the sort of thing religion isn't very good at.
